The guesswork about the future of national ski jumping coach Stefan Horngacher continues and will not end any time soon.

Munich – Will he stay or leave the DSV?

Ski jumping national coach Stefan Horngacher's contract expires after this winter and so far there has been no decision about his future.

This is not expected in the near future.

The association wants to take its time and not make a hasty decision.

What's next for national ski jumping coach Horngacher?

“There is no time crunch, we won’t allow ourselves to be pushed.

We don't give ourselves any limits.

We always sit down, but we don't always just talk about the contract details.

There are many things – young talent, material, philosophy – that are discussed,” said sports director Horst Hüttel at the Raw Air Tour in Oslo, Norway.

Nevertheless, there is probably a desire to continue with Stefan Horngacher as national coach, as Hüttel made clear: “At the moment we have no other plan for the coaching position.

The season started very well with nine podium finishes in a row.”

Horngacher himself recently spoke of positive discussions with the association.

The 54-year-old explained that the future will be discussed further at the World Cup in Trondheim, Norway.

Talks between DSV and national ski jumping coach Horngacher are pending

At the end of last year, the Austrian said in an interview with the

Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger

that he would be interested in the future as national coach of the German men's ski jumping team.

“There are going to be World Championships again and the Olympic Games again in 2026,” continued Horngacher, who also spoke of “other possibilities”.

A farewell to the DSV is by no means out of the question.

Stefan Horngacher has been the national coach responsible for the German ski jumpers since 2019.

The 54-year-old took over the position from predecessor Werner Schuster.

Previously he was head coach of the Polish ski jumping team.

Under the Austrian, DSV won team gold at the 2021 home World Championships in Oberstdorf and Karl Geiger won the title at the 2020 Ski Flying World Championships in Planica.

On the other hand, no German ski jumper was able to win the Four Hills Tournament under him, even though Andreas Wellinger came close to winning this year.
