Rosi Mittermaier died about a year ago.
For Felix Neureuther, talking about his mother's death is still an emotional rollercoaster.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Felix Neureuther likes to appear dominant on topics in which he can demonstrate expertise.
In the past, for example, he complained about the 2029 Asian Winter Games in Saudi Arabia, or blamed frustration on the lack of exercise by many children.
But Neureuther also has an extremely emotional side, especially when it comes to his mother.

Felix Neureuther remembers: It was the first anniversary of Rosi Mittermaier's death
January 4th of this year marked the first anniversary of Rosi Mittermaier's death.
The German ski legend died at the age of 72 after suffering from cancer.
Her son Felix Neureuther still has to swallow when he talks to someone about his mother's death.
This is what happened in an interview with Die
Zeit
.
“The moment of diagnosis was terrible,” remembers Neureuther.
“You can’t prepare for this.
It hits you in the heart, it still hits me when I think about it." It seems as if the 39-year-old is still very emotionally affected when he is asked about his mother, who died about a year ago.

Felix Neureuther talks about Rosi Mittermaier: “There was never any complaint”
During his active career, Neureuther specialized in the alpine disciplines of slalom and giant slalom and won a total of 13 individual World Cup victories.
Of course, Rosi Mittermaier was also busy with her son's races.
“When I came home early after winning a World Cup race, she was of course happy, but in the end the victory wasn’t important to her,” said Neureuther, looking back on his mother.
“The most important thing for her was: Is everything okay, are you okay?
This is how she dealt with her diagnosis, incredibly realistically.
There was never any complaining, on the contrary, she was the one who comforted and built us up.
We all miss her very much.”
