A huge riot this evening (Sunday) in Turkish football, when the Trabzonspor fans broke into the grass and started attacking the Fenerbahçe players, who responded and also hit them in a mass melee.
Security forces and police tried to restore order, but to no avail.
The break into the field came as a result of dissatisfaction with refereeing decisions that favored the guest, according to the local audience.
The Brazilian Fred scored a pair of goals from Dusan Tadic in the first half, the Macedonian Anis Bardi and the Egyptian Trezaga equalized (penalty), but the substitute Michy Batshuayi came on in the 83rd minute and after four minutes gave an important victory to the second-ranked team, which is still two points behind its arch-rivals Galatasaray.
Fener players were celebrating in the center of the field at the end and then one fan burst in and started arguing with the Nigerian defender Bright Osei-Samuel, who hit him vigorously.
Following him, other fans entered and Teshuai kicked one of them, when other players joined the riot and hit them as well.

Coach Ismail Kartal claimed at the end that the Fener players did not provoke, and the Turkish Interior Minister tweeted that an investigation had been opened into the melee.
"Above all, sport is a matter for gentlemen. We will not accept violence on the football fields," wrote Minister Ali Yirilkaya.
This incident of violence is one of many this season in Turkey, including an attack on a referee by a club president and riots over refereeing decisions.
