It was most likely the last time that Michel Der Zakarian faced Kylian Mbappé in Ligue 1. And the Montpellier coach should remember it.
On the menu this Sunday evening, a hat-trick and a suitcase received at home against PSG (2-6) for the 26th day of the championship.
And yet the coach of the Hérault club had nothing to do with it at a press conference when the media asked him about the prospect and possible relief of no longer having to face the top scorer in PSG history.
“I don’t give a damn.
He’s not there anymore, he’s not there anymore, it doesn’t matter,” he replied, impassive and without the slightest smile.
“He has a talent…”
With the humiliation still in his throat, Michel Der Zakarian did not speak out about the masterful performance of the Parisian number 7 either.
“He scored three goals for us, we let him hit twice and we know that, when we give him time, he has talent... He put it where he needed to.
We still conceded three goals like that,” reacted the Montpellier coach, still annoyed.

Der Zakarian preferred to salute his team's performance in the first period.
“Even though we were down 2-0, we had a good reaction.
(…) We gave them a lot of problems offensively.
We created a lot of situations, we scored two goals even if there was one from a penalty.
I think the goalkeeper can take a red card as hard as the penalty.
But hey, the referee said no,” he even lamented.
A decision that the Franco-Armenian coach has not yet digested.
