The Cameroonian fighter posted images online showing him in the hours following his defeat in the second round against Joshua.


Francis Ngannou walking slowly and with a borrowed gait towards his locker room, in the arms of his loved ones after the terrible knockout of which he suffered against Anthony Joshua on the night of March 8 to 9, or even in the taxi taking him back to his hotel in Saudi Arabia.

The fighter reveals himself in the third episode of his web series dedicated to the shock in the ring against the Briton with very personal images.

With his family in the locker room

In this documentary of just over seven minutes entitled

Ngannou Aftermath

, Francis Ngannou appears as a beaten champion and condemned to question himself.

Exclusive images on which he uses his voice to analyze this failure with hindsight and talk about his future.

We first see him returning to his locker room, head down, with his staff.

One of the members of his entourage slips:

“I hate seeing brothers like that”

, speaking of the ex-MMA terror.

We then find

still in his outfit, hugging his loved ones, then sitting with a pensive face resting on his clasped hands.

“I think it will only be a defeat if I don’t learn from it

,” he explains.

“I didn't fail, I just fell and I will come back to overcome this situation and make the best of it

,” he adds as he returns to his accommodation in the Saudi night.

Ngannou wants a third fight

The rest of the documentary returns to the preparation for the fight and the confrontation in images but Ngannou continues to dissect this terrible defeat.

“The blow (which brought his KO, editor's note) was hard but I don't think it was the type of punch that usually brings me down

,” he analyzes.

“It’s a strange defeat, something I wouldn’t want to experience.

But it will only remain a defeat if I do not learn from this experience,”

continues the Cameroonian before concluding with the prospect of a new fight in the ring:

“What is the next step for me, perhaps a third boxing match.

I feel like boxing owes me something now.

I have to rediscover what boxing took from me.”
