OL Groupe announced this Monday that it was selling its American women's franchise, Seattle Reign FC, formerly known as OL Reign, to the MLS club Seattle Sounders. The company led by John Textor will receive a little more than 50 million euros from this sale.


In an official press release, OL Groupe announced the sale of

"its entire stake, i.e. 97% of the club's share capital"

, of Seattle Reign FC (formerly OL Reign), after an agreement with

"the Seattle Sounders and the company of “Carlyle Global Investment.”

This transaction, which should bring in a little more than 50 million euros for the group (100% of the shares representing 58 million dollars, or 53.6 million euros), should be finalized

"at the beginning of 2024, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of the NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) and MLS (Major League Soccer).”
