FC Bayern is continuing to restructure its sporting leadership and has terminated the contract with technical director Marco Neppe.
Munich – According to
tz
information, Marco Neppe is no longer employed by FC Bayern Munich.
The former technical director and the club mutually terminated the contract.
Since Christoph Freund took office as sports director in September 2023, the 37-year-old has only played a minor role in the squad planning and sporting orientation of the German record champions.
FC Bayern is probably terminating Neppe's contract
Neppe was already left out of the eventful finale of the summer transfer window.
In the winter he mainly took on scouting tasks and no longer had any decision-making power when it came to changes.
Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge were also not considered advocates for the 37-year-old.
FC Bayern Munich recently completed the signing of Max Eberl as the successor to Hasan Salihamidžić for the position of sports director, which has been vacant for several months.
Eberl and Freund should determine the sporting direction on Säbener Straße in the future.
There is no place left for Marco Neppe with the German record champions.

In 2014, Neppe was brought to FC Bayern by the then technical director Michael Reschke.
He initially worked as a scout and then became technical director himself.
He later became a close confidant of Salihamidžić, who had to leave the club together with chairman Oliver Kahn at the end of last season.
Neppe involved in Kane's Bayern signing
In the past, Neppe was instrumental in the signing of striker Harry Kane, which he carried out together with CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
However, the club has always remained cautious about Neppe's future.

During his time as Technical Director he also played a part in the signings of Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Kingley Coman and Minjae Kim.
With Marc Roca and Omar Richards, for example, the 37-year-old also made bad purchases that didn't help FC Bayern in terms of sport.
It is not known what plans Marco Neppe has for his future and which club he could move to after Bayern leaves.
His position at the German record champions is unlikely to be filled.
