Tamara Tippler became a mother around six months ago.

Now, completely unexpectedly, she announced her comeback - but only in a replacement role.

Saalbach-Hinterglemm – A year ago there was good news to report from Tamara Tippler.

The Austrian speed driver announced in March 2023 that she was expecting a child.

In September the time had come and their daughter Mia saw the light of day.

Almost exactly a year after the surprising baby news, the ski mom delighted her fans with the next good news: she is returning to the ski slopes.

Tippler returns to the ski slopes as a forerunner at the World Cup finals

However, the 32-year-old will initially start as a forerunner at the World Cup final in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and will not fight for World Cup points.

“My goal was always to be able to start as a forerunner in the last races and to be so fit that I could do it,” explains Tippler in the podcast “What’s Behind It” by former world champion Nicole Schmidhofer and ski racer Cornelia Hütter.

The Austrian deliberately leaves it open as to whether she will make an official World Cup comeback in the future.

In her skiing career so far, Tippler has already made it to the podium ten times.

Her fans dream of seeing the speed specialist on the podium again at the 2025 home World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

Tippler about Vorlauf: “I make it very dependent on whether my career continues”

“I do it very much depending on whether my career continues or not.

You can easily say that on a racing track: Is this still something for me or I don't have the courage, I'm too far away that it no longer makes sense," she is quoted by the Austrian sports portal LAOLA1.

It should be a gentle introduction back into the ski circus.

Tippler doesn't want to set expectations too high just six months after the birth of her daughter.

One of the biggest challenges after pregnancy was getting used to the physical changes.

Tippler began training eight weeks after birth

“Anyone who has had a child knows that it is a challenge.

“The whole body changes, it’s so easy to imagine,” she reports in the podcast.

Tippler began her training eight weeks after birth.

She has now completed six days of snow training and has even taken part in a men's Super-G unit.

It remains to be seen whether she has tasted blood for more after the World Cup preliminary run in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

“Now we’ll see what comes out of the preliminary run.” Her fans would certainly be ready for the next piece of good news.

Recently, a French skiing dream couple was also happy about a new addition to the family - Felix Neureuther also congratulated.
