Cyprien Sarrazin in search of a new exploit.
After having already won three downhills this season, the 29-year-old Frenchman is in the fight to win the small globe of the specialty as the final round of the season approaches this Sunday.
Second in the downhill standings behind Marco Odermatt, “Cyp” is 42 points behind the Swiss, already winner of three globes this winter (general, super-G, giant).
A significant delay but not impossible to make up for.
“Capable of replaying the podium”
“It’s not a miracle that I’m here but things don’t just depend on me,” explains the main person involved.

I feel capable of being on the podium again, even without a lot of skiing behind me.
» More precisely, Cyprien Sarrazin must necessarily finish in the top 5, before having to scrutinize the result of his Swiss rival.

- He wins the descent of Saalbach (Austria) and Marco Odermatt does not do better than 4th
- He finished 2nd and Odermatt ranked no better than 7th.
- He finished 4th and Odermatt 14th.
In this case, the two descenders would be tied in number of points.
Sarrazin would finish ahead in the ranking because he won one more descent than the Swiss: 3 against 2.
- He finishes 4th or 5th and Odermatt finishes outside the top 15.
As a reminder, Cyprien Sarrazin missed the last two descents in mid-February in Kvitfjell (Norway) due to a fall in training.
He returns to competition this week in Austria.
For his first race in a month and a half, he finished 4th in the super-G, just ahead of Marco Odermatt.
