Williams only has one car on the road
This ticker is constantly updated.
Q2:
The first drivers are on the track.
Carlos Sainz is the first to want to do a fast lap.
He definitely has a good chance of setting a solid time.
He does that too, at least for a few seconds.
Because now Max Verstappen is perhaps exactly where he wanted to be and is setting the fastest time.

So, everyone wants to do it again now.

Who's flying out?
Things aren't looking good for the two Haas.
Both fly out in Q1!
Oh bitter - Daniel Ricciardo had a lap deleted.
So he's out and Kevin Magnussen is back in for Q2.
Q1:
There will probably be a grid penalty for Pierre Gasly.
The Frenchman clearly crossed the white line when exiting the pits and did not finish in the designated lane.
Normally that means: 3 starting positions behind!
Q1:
Three minutes left to drive.
Alex Albon puts his Williams in a good 5th place - so he should be safe for Q2.
Verstappen creates the best time in the first sector, but loses too much in the last one and only ends up in P3 with his time.

Directly behind him is teammate Charles Leclerc.
Max Verstappen is fastest in the first two sectors.
But the Red Bull just can't get the last one!
He loses sixteenths to the other cars and has to say goodbye to the fastest lap.
Q1:
Eight minutes left to drive.
So far, Charles Leclerc is the fastest - so the trend from the free practice sessions continues.
Sergio Perez also doesn't quite live up to the Monegasque's time.
BUT THEN FERNANDO ALONSO COMES AND DRIVES THE FASTEST RACE LAP.
Formula 1 qualifying: Esteban Ocon easily hits the barrier
Q1:
Unfortunately, Esteban Ocon didn't exit a corner quite cleanly, he was too far out and against the barrier.
He wore out the rear rim a bit.
A new tire is needed.
The two Alpines are currently at the back of the field anyway.
This was already evident in the first two races.
Q1:
Max Verstappen had some parts on his car replaced before qualifying; the Dutchman had some problems in the free practice sessions beforehand.
But not everything seems to be going smoothly in qualifying either: he complains about far too much understeer.

Alex Albon is particularly present at the moment - all eyes are on him at the moment anyway.
It is windy and dusty in Melbourne, and there are also some leaves on the road.

He gets Logan Sargeant's car because he crashed his in the first free practice session.
Last season, in the 2023 race, he lost his car and put it in the pile.

Charles Leclerc was fastest again and is currently the hot candidate for pole position.
Verstappen even had a few small problems with his car at times.

Qualifying in Australia: Will Max Verstappen take pole again?
Melbourne – Formula 1 is visiting Australia and no clear favorite could emerge in the first two free practice sessions.
Max Verstappen was nowhere fastest.
In the first two races he was the clear favorite; he not only won the qualifying, but also outpaced everyone else in the races.
Even his teammate Sergio Perez, who drives the same car, simply had no chance.
However, he has not yet become fastest in Australia.
Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris dominated the first two free practice sessions.
However, the field is very close and a clear favorite cannot yet be determined.
Of course, Max Verstappen will still fight for victory, even if he might not take pole this time.

Australian Grand Prix: Williams drives with only one car
The first free practice session ended in disaster for Williams.
Alex Albon crashed his car into the barriers so hard that shortly afterwards it was clear that it could not be put back together for the race.
The racing team does not have a replacement frame.
So only one car can compete for Williams this weekend – Logan Sargeant’s.
But as the racing team announced, the American will not be in his car.
Williams has come to the decision that Alex Albon will still drive.
It is said on Instagram that they had to make a really difficult decision, but ultimately came to the conclusion that Albon had a better chance of scoring points.
