Bayer Leverkusen dominates the Bundesliga at will.
When could the Werkself be crowned champions?
We have listed three scenarios.
Leverkusen – It's entering the hot phase of this Bundesliga season: Bayer Leverkusen is at the top after 26 match days with a ten point lead (70) over FC Bayern Munich (60).
VfB Stuttgart (56) is in third place with four points less than the record champions (as of March 19).
Bayer Leverkusen is reaching for the trophy: ten points ahead with eight matchdays left
So when could Bayer Leverkusen win the first championship title in the club's history?
After the international break, the 27th matchday continues on the Easter weekend (March 29th to 31st).
24 points are still up for grabs this season.
With eight match days to go, there are of course a number of scenarios that could make Leverkusen champions early.
We look at three options here: the fastest way, the “everyone wins everything alternative” and the “Leverkusen minus scenario”.

When Bayer Leverkusen could become champions
The fastest way:
to the championship in three weeks?
That works.
In the absolute ideal case, the Werkself only need three wins to quickly reach the cup.
At the same time, Bayern would have to lose two of the three upcoming games and VfB would also have to give up - Stuttgart should only get a maximum of seven points (two wins, one draw).
Then Leverkusen would be 16 points ahead after matchday 29 and only 15 would be up for grabs.
This 29th matchday will be played from April 12th to 14th
.
Bayer plays at home against Werder Bremen on Sunday evening.
Everyone-wins-everything alternative:
If Leverkusen and FC Bayern win all their games in the coming weeks, that means Bayer will be the safe champions with three match days to go.
Until then that means: five wins, 15 points.
The current lead of ten points would simply be maintained, but after the
31st matchday
only nine would be played.
In this case, the Leverkusen championship weekend would be
around April 27th
(no final date yet).
The game will be played in the BayArena against Stuttgart.
Leverkusen minus scenario:
How often can Leverkusen lose?
If FC Bayern actually wins every single game for the rest of the season and thus puts maximum pressure on coach Xabi Alonso's team, Bayer would still need 15 points or 14 and the better goal difference for the cup.
With eight games remaining, the Leverkusen championship trophy can be represented as follows:

The Bundesliga final takes place on
Saturday, May 18th
.
Leverkusen has a home game against Augsburg, FC Bayern has to go to TSG Hoffenheim.
Should Bayer push it to the limit, the championship would only be decided on
matchday 34
- a constellation that also existed last spring.
At that time, Borussia Dortmund sensationally lost the title and Bayern celebrated.
By the way: After the 26th matchday of the previous season, FCB led the league by two points over BVB and was two points behind before the decisive game.
In the end, both teams had 71 points, with Munich prevailing thanks to the better goal difference.
