Summary of the loss of Hapoel Tel Aviv 94:89 to Besiktas in the Eurocup quarterfinals/Sport1
Hapoel Haifa still hasn't calmed down from the violent events that took place last night (Saturday) at the Drive In, during which some of the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans beat several of the visiting team's fans.
"The more I go back and see the videos and recreate the difficult events at the end of the game, I realize that it is only a miracle that the lynching ended with only injuries," said Hapoel Haifa CEO Ron Feldheim. "You can see our fan lying on the floor and at least ten of the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans They beat him with sticks and belts without any of the security personnel and the police, if any, intervening.
"Even when it seemed that the event was over, another fan came and brutally kicked him in the head when he was helpless. This time it did not end in murder, but so that such a case does not happen again, it is the duty of all parties - the Minister of Culture and Sports, the Minister of Internal Security, the Israel Police, Union Basketball and the management of the Premier League - to treat this criminal violence as if someone had been murdered, otherwise we will return to see this hooliganism again and again, this season. Only severe and significant punishment for everyone who took part in the lynching will be able to eradicate violence in basketball."
