The start of the final series in the Bayernliga was primarily based on tension: the Peißenberg Miners and EHC Königsbrunn played an even game.

Peißenberg

- There was the Steigerlied and the Bavarian anthem - certainly intoned by the Knappschaftskapelle.

Between the two musical lectures, Frank Butz, ice hockey chairman of the BEV, walked onto the ice and placed the winner's trophy on a specially provided podium.

The final series for the Bayernliga title began ceremoniously.

The two teams were obviously impressed by the special atmosphere.

A goal is scored in the first final game for the Bayernliga title

The host Peißenberg Miners and EHC Königsbrunn exercised caution for much of Friday evening.

This resulted in a balanced game, but in which the really big, spectacular offensive moves were in short supply.

Given this, it was almost logical that one goal was enough to win the game.

The penguins had the better end, winning 1-0 (0-0, 1-0, 0-0).

In the second game, on Sunday (6 p.m.) in Königsbrunn, the Peißenbergers are now under more pressure than their opponents to win.

Whoever wins three times in the series secures the cup and the championship title.

Who wants to start a final with an early goal conceded?

Even.

And that's why the teams started cautiously.

Peißenberg had the first action in which a goal seemed seriously possible: Florian Simon took a shot and EHC keeper Stefan Vajs parried the deflected shot with his pad (4th).

On the other side, Mika Reuter appeared free in front of TSV keeper Korbinian Sertl, but he held confidently (6th).

As a result, the miners dominated events for a long time.

The result was several chances.

But EHC goalkeeper Vajs, who used to work for EC Peiting and worked in the DEL2 for many years, also knows his craft.

He parried against Ryan Murphy, Dejan Vogl, Martin Andrä, among others.

The Miners received their only penalty in the first third (14th), but the penalty killing worked well.

The penguins started the middle third with verve.

They followed up a hit on the crossbar (21st) with the opening goal: Marco Sternheimer passed across to Toms Prokopovics, who could hardly be stopped - the Miners were behind 0-1 (23rd).

As a result, the guests showed why they had the third-best defense in the league in the preliminary round (79 goals conceded in 30 games).

Königsbrunn played compactly, fought hard and made almost no mistakes in their own zone.

That made things difficult for the Miners.

And when an opportunity did arise - as with the double chance from Lynnden Pastachak and Murphy (34th) - the EHC saved with combined strength.

Even in the power play (34th, 40th), the Peißenbergers didn't want to succeed.

EHC Königsbrunn makes life difficult for miners

The Miners

started the final third

with one man more.

Pastachak narrowly missed the equalizer.

As a result, Königsbrunn continued to act in a very disciplined manner, cleverly preventing the Miners from building up the game in a tight manner in the neutral zone.

The penguins also repeatedly managed to get into the attack zone themselves.

Given the close result, the game increasingly depended on the tension to see whether another goal would be scored.

A penalty against the EHC gave Peißenberg an opportunity to equalize.

But even when they were outnumbered, the guests played strong defensively.

As a result, the Miners repeatedly tried to establish themselves in the opponent's zone.

In order to defend their lead, Königsbrunn also took numerous icings into account.

It was bitter for Peißenberg that Dejan Vogl allowed himself to take revenge after an indelicate duel from Reuter.

The Miners striker received a two-minute penalty for improper physical attack (58th).

Königsbrunn cleverly let the time pass in the power play - when Peißenberg was allowed to play with five again, there were only 28 seconds left on the clock.

The Miners were no longer able to get a really dangerous shot on goal.
