The DEL playoffs have already started and the DEL season is entering its hot phase.

The game plan at a glance.
Munich – The 2023/24 ice hockey season is entering the hot phase and the question arises as to who will dethrone the reigning champions EHC Red Bull Munich.
The playoffs in the DEL have already begun and the first participants in the semi-finals have already been determined.
The champions made it into the top four.
DEL playoffs 2024: The mode and the rules
While the first six teams in the DEL main round qualified directly for the quarterfinals, places seven to ten determined the remaining two participants.
Seeded for the round of the last eight were the Fischtown Pinguins, the Eisbären Berlin, the Straubing Tigers, the Grizzlys Wolfsburg, the champions EHC Red Bull Munich and the Schwenninger Wild Wings.
Adler Mannheim and runner-up ERC Ingolstadt qualified for the quarter-finals via the pre-playoffs.
Quarterfinals
: 16th/17th, 19th/20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th*, 28th*, 30th* March
Semi-finals
: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th/10th*, 11th/12th*, 13th/14th* April
Final
: April 17th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 26th*, 28th*, 30th*

From the quarter-finals onwards, the “Best of seven” mode will be used.
A team that wins four times in a duel with its opponent is qualified for the next round.
The league leader meets the team that performed worst and so on.
The games last 60 minutes.
If there is no winner after regular time, there will be an extra time of 20 minutes, in which the team that scores the first goal wins.
If there is no goal there either, overtime starts after a 15-minute break and the number of players is reduced to five players.
The DEL playoffs are entering the hot phase.

Penguins and champions EHC Munich already in the semi-finals
While four teams are still fighting for a place in the semi-finals, the Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven and EHC Red Bull Munich made short work of their opponents.
The Pinguins won all four games against ERC Ingolstadt, while the Munich team beat Grizzlys Wolfsburg four times.
Meanwhile, the Straubinger Tigers and Schwenninger Wild Wings as well as the Eisbären Berlin and Adler Mannheim are still fighting for a place in the semi-finals, which starts at the beginning of April.
The first of the possible seven games will be played on April 1st.
The DEL caused a real hype in the current season and set a new attendance record.
