At the beginning of April, the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo is expected to hold a recognition ceremony for great past athletes, through the municipal sports authority.
Among the honorees is Shimon Amsalem, one of Hapoel Tel Aviv's all-time basketball stars and former team captain.
In his conversation with Ron Koffman and Moshe Primo on 103fm, he told about his feelings following the exciting status.
"It's an amazing gesture by the municipality of Aviv, it's the hall of fame that the greatest athletes entered there," he claimed.
"It's a great honor, certainly as a representative of the red side of basketball in Tel Aviv. Especially as a kid who came from Sderot, and this city embraced him. It's a great honor for me, for the family, and for Hapoel Tel Aviv. You have to accept it with humility and gratitude, and embrace Everyone who was a part of this choice. Thank you to the Tel Aviv Municipality for the honor and the appreciation, it really goes without saying."

Regarding the phenomenon of violence during the games, which has been increasing over the past few years and perhaps reached its peak in the game against Hapoel Haifa, he said: "The violence was implicit. It never spilled over to these places. There was a connection between us and the audience. I don't want to defend something I don't agree with Every time something bad happens. There is a line that is never crossed - raising a hand, getting down on the floor, these are things that have never happened. Hapoel Tel Aviv needs to make a switch and change its approach," said Amsalem.
