The legendary former Paraguay goalkeeper, José Luis Chilavert, attacked Vinicius in a tweet in reaction to the press conference held by the Brazil striker on Monday.
The latter burst into tears while talking about the racist attacks to which he is regularly subjected, mainly with his club Real Madrid.
“I just want to play football
,” he whispered, overwhelmed by emotion.
"Bread and games. The first to insult and attack opponents is him. Don’t be a faggot, football is for men
,” commented Chilavert.
Aged 58, he remained famous in the world of football for his bloody shots as well as his numerous goals despite his position as goalkeeper.
Author of nearly 70 goals in his career, he notably wore the colors of Strasbourg between 2000 and 2002. Chilavert retired in 2004 before beginning a reconversion into politics in 2017. Marked on the right and admiring of the former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, he ran in the presidential elections in his native country in 2023. He only received 0.83% of the vote.
