This time the participants in the Gögerl trail run had to be particularly weatherproof.

Jackets and long pants dominated the picture.

Cold, wet weather and a snowstorm at the start: Post SV's Gögerl trail run was challenging, and not just because of the route.

But it was also better attended than ever.

Weilheim

– Race director Lothar Kirsch takes the microphone again to do something good for the participants: “Warm up well.

It’s cold.” And what does Alexandra Grimbs do?

She just doesn't stick to it.

“I stayed in the car until the start.

It was so uncomfortable.”

Alexandra Grimb's fastest woman on the Gögerltrail

She says this with an apologetic smile.

And she says this as the fastest woman on the 12.5 kilometer route.

The Kochler woman wearing the LC Tölzer Land jersey confidently won the women's classification over the long distance at the fourth edition of the Gögerltrail run.

Grimbs completed the course with an altitude of around 280 meters in 51:57 minutes.

(Our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter regularly informs you about all important stories from your region.)

“The mountains are mine,” says Grimbs.

Gaißacher Berglauf, Heimgartenlauf, Karwendelmarsch – last year it was at the top of the results list everywhere.

The

doesn't have that many meters of elevation to offer.

“I thought this wasn’t really my route,” said the chef.

But then it worked – with a “cold start” – with a day’s victory at her premiere on the Gögerl.

Fastest woman: Alexandra Grimbs won the 12.5 kilometers.

Someone who could have challenged her for first place under normal circumstances is

Maria Elisa Legelli

.

The long-distance specialist from Böbing waved her off before the start: she was recently sick and injured.

She used the run primarily to test her form with a view to the marathon DM.

“It was okay to get in,” said Legelli at the finish.

With 55:56 minutes she was the fourth fastest woman.

Legelli consciously chose not to wear trail running shoes, but she mastered the muddy ground in her pink shoes (Legelli's trademark).

Lukas Parockinger had opted for all-terrain shoes - and in his opinion he made exactly the right choice.

“At times it was really a mud party,” said the young Weilheimer, who previously won medals at district championships as a swimmer (TSV Weilheim, SGO Penzberg) and was now taking part in a running competition for the first time.

He was thrilled by the whole atmosphere: “It was really cool.”

Before the start he expected a time of around 65 minutes; he crossed the finish line at the upper Gögerl car park after 53:59 minutes.

In the overall ranking, he took an impressive 23rd place - one place ahead of Georg Hoiss (54:21), who took part in the Post SV Weilheim cross-country race for the second time after 2023.

He was quite satisfied with his result.

South Tyrolean Samuel Demetz wins in a superior manner

Hoiss was one of the few athletes who competed in the race wearing shorts despite the cold, wet weather (a veritable snowstorm swept across the entire terrain at the start).

At least he still had a hat on.

Meanwhile, the fastest of the day, Samuel Demetz (44:40), came in a very light summer outfit.

“I rather like the cold,” said the 21-year-old South Tyrolean from the Val Gardena.

Had a long journey: 12.5 kilometer winner Samuel Demetz is from South Tyrol.

His hobby is running in the mountains with lots of altitude, and in the spring he can even go cross-country running.

He discovered the Gögerltrail through a running calendar on the internet.

“A nice route,” said Demetz, who set off from South Tyrol early in the morning.

The eventual winner broke away from the rest soon after the start.

He was “super-satisfied” with his result.

The standard at the front was high this year - nine runners stayed under 50 minutes.

Another member of the Demetz family was also in strong form: Samuel's younger sister Sofia (born in 2006) took second place overall among the women with 54:46 minutes.

For the first time this year, Post SV offered a 7-kilometer route.

60 women and men had registered in advance for the shorter distance – “more than we thought,” said race director Kirsch.

The offer “has proven itself,” he noted with satisfaction.

In general, the Gögerl trail arrives.

(All news and stories from our district can also be found on our Facebook page.)

As far as early and late registrations were concerned, “we are scratching the 300 mark,” said Kirsch half an hour before it started.

300 starters are the limit of the event, which also leads through an area relevant to nature conservation.

243 athletes were classified in the end.

Even though the field was significantly larger this year than in previous editions, the atmosphere is still family-like.

Victory over 7 kilometers: Markus Holzer was happy at the finish.

Markus Holzer won the 7 kilometers (29:40).

Post-SV runner

Franz Engel

(32:02) came third.

The youngest in the field, Simon Streicher (born 2006) from TSV Peißenberg came in a strong sixth with a time of 34:11 minutes.

In fact, more women than men took part in the short distance.

Gabi Scheifl (35:36) from LC Tölzer Land won the day ahead of

Heidi Höfler

(36:16) from Rottenbuch and Petra Engel (39:06).
