Five days after the 4:1 defeat to Iceland in the semifinals of the Euro promotion playoff, the Israeli national team suffered its first official shock this evening (Tuesday).
Yossi Benyon, the professional manager of the senior team, ended his position after a meeting with Shino Zoertz.
The chairman of the football association informed Benyon that he had decided to end the contract between the parties after only two years. Benyon - the record holder for appearances in the Israeli national team with 102 games - began his professional career as a professional manager at Beitar Jerusalem.
