European Championship playoffs live ticker: Georgia wants to achieve something historic against Greece
Georgia will welcome the 2004 European champions from Greece in Tbilisi at 6 p.m.
Last week the nations easily beat Luxembourg (2:0) and Kazakhstan (5:0).
Now the final step should be taken.
For Georgia it would be the first participation in a European Championship finals in football history.
The long-time French professional from FC Bayern Munich, Willy Sagnol, has been the outsider's national coach since 2021.
At the press conference before what is perhaps the most important duel in Georgian football, the 47-year-old asked his players: “To win games like this, you need a winning mentality.
Just dreaming is not enough.” Superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is now returning in time for this big goal after his yellow card suspension.
Nevertheless, Greece, who have not lost any of their previous seven meetings with Georgia, are the favorites.

In Cardiff, Ukraine-Schreck Wales will host the experienced Poles in the third playoff match.
With six wins in a row against the Welsh and the 5-1 win in the semi-finals of the playoffs against Estonia, the Poles are going into the last encounter with a big chest.
Coach Michal Probierz, who has been training the Eastern Europeans since September, is still unbeaten and sums up the right approach well: “Finals and playoff games are not played, but won.”
