The swimming district III championship in Bad Tölz was an attraction for many young swimmers.

The clubs from the local district were successful in action.

Bad Tölz

– The swimming pool in Bad Tölz was the venue for the championship on the short course (25 meters) in District III this year.

Almost 180 young athletes from eight clubs south of Munich took part.

Post SV Weilheim: Quirin Rohm successful in the 25-meter pool

The haul was impressive: the three swimmers from

Post SV Weilheim

, who had set off for Bad Tölz, returned with a total of ten medals.

Things went optimally for Quirin Rohm (born 2011): he won five titles.

The Post-SV youngster won the 50 meter freestyle (29.67), the 50 meter backstroke (34.85), the 100 meter freestyle (1:07.31), the 50 meter butterfly (33.28) and came first in the 100 meter individual medley (1:16.59).

Fabian Gailler (born 2011) had a silver medal in the 50 meter breaststroke (46.15) as his best result.

Verena Gailler (born 2009) won bronze twice.

SGO Penzberg: Large contingent takes numerous podium places

The SG Oberland-Penzberg showed mass and class at the district championships.

The club went to the title fights with a larger number of athletes; for several of the youngsters it was their first ever participation in an official competition.

The SGO swimmers were in good shape and ended up with 27 titles alone.

As expected, the siblings

Katharina Rath

(born 2006) and

Maximilian Rath

(born 2009) took care of the majority of gold medals.

Both won six gold medals and one silver medal.

Both used the championship for many starts under competitive conditions.

The focus is on national competitions.

Katharina Rath had already been successful in action at the Bavarian “Long Distance” championship this year.

The freestyle specialist from Penzberg won gold (800 meters) and silver (1500 meters) in Würzburg.

In the southern German title fights, one silver medal (1500 meters) and one bronze medal (800 meters) were won.

In Bad Tölz, the 200 meter individual medley was the longest distance - Katharina Rath won in the 2005/2006 class in 2:38.64 minutes and a lead of around 13 seconds.

Maximilian Rath achieved the best performance of the day across all age groups in the 100 meter breaststroke with 1:13.14 minutes.

With this result, the youngster, who actually focuses on athletics, would have undercut the standard for the German championship.

In order to really be able to take part, he would have to confirm the result on a 50-meter track - which doesn't exist in the area.

The other

SGO swimmers

also performed impressively in Bad Tölz, as the club said.

Clara Friedrich (1), Greta Janischewski (1), Romy Gnadl (1), Leo Kling (1), Felix Rudolph (3), Luisa Fiehne (2), Benedikt Schächtl (2), Lotta Freidrich (3) took first places. and Paul Artmann (1).

In the 4 x 50 meter freestyle relay, the Penzberg team won the bronze medal among twelve teams.

Benedikt Schächtl, Romy Gnadl as well as Katharina and Maximilian Rath achieved a time of 1:58.37.

Only the favored SV Grün-Weiß Holzkirchen (1:50.30) and WSV Geretsried (1:57.51) were better.

Moritz Hoffmeyer wins gold medals and delivers good times

Moritz Hoffmeyer

(born 2005)

found that the conditions for the athletes were not entirely optimal .

The Weilheimer, who works for SV Grün-Weiß Holzkirchen, cited the back starting aids as an example.

There “the crossbar of the foot gave way during the start, so that an optimal push-off was not possible.”

The starting blocks were also not up to scratch. Nevertheless, he was happy about “relatively good times”, Hoffmeyer was “satisfied overall”.

For the man from Weilheim, it was primarily a matter of fine-tuning his form, which has recently improved significantly.

He won the gold medal in all five races he completed.

In the 50 meter freestyle (26.18 seconds) he was over three seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Hoffmeyer achieved his second-best time ever swum on the short course.

His performances on his main position, backstroke, were also strong: over the 50 meter backstroke (29.11) he was the only swimmer that remained the fastest across all age groups that day.

Hoffmeyer himself was not so satisfied.

(All news and stories from our district can also be found on our Facebook page.)

Over the 100 meters (1:04.85) he was - again the fastest of the day - only around a tenth above his current personal best.

The race “felt like it went really well,” reported Hoffmeyer.

The Weilheimer achieved the third best time of the day in the 100 meter butterfly (1:05.42).

This year in February he was already significantly faster - by more than a second.

At the end, Hoffmeyer took first place in the 4 x 50 meter freestyle relay (1:50.30).

The Holzkirchen quartet was a good seven seconds ahead of second place, WSV Geretsried.

The season “was a lot of fun.

To be on top of the podium with the team at the end is just cool.”

The TSV Schongau swimmers won many medals at the title fights in Bad Tölz.

The trainers were also happy about that.

TSV Schongau traveled to Bad Tölz with nine athletes between the ages of ten and 23.
