In the past, only football mattered, today Joshua Kimmich sees things a little differently in some areas.
Because it is important to him to be a good father and husband.
Munich – Joshua Kimmich is a thoroughbred footballer who fights with a lot of passion on the pitch.
That used to be his whole life.
Today, football is still an important part of it, but his top priority is now his family.
“Life off the pitch is much more important”: Kimmich gives insights into his private life
“I can only say that life off the pitch, i.e. real life, is much more important – of course because of the children.
Football used to determine my entire everyday life.
Today football is my job, my passion, my hobby.
In the past, if I played well, everything was fine at home and if not, the day was over.
The latter is no longer possible today,” said the FC Bayern star in an interview with Die
Welt
.
The children don't care how things are going with football, "at home I'm completely the dad."
He enjoys the fact that he has a completely different role at home and that football takes a back seat.
“Anything else wouldn’t do justice to the children,” he said.

Kimmich praises his wife Lina: “Deserves a statue”
Kimmich only found words of praise for his wife Lina.
“Especially now that I've been away for almost ten days, I feel like my wife deserves a statue because she's doing all this alone,” he said.
When he's at home, he doesn't just put his feet up, he gets fully involved.
“I always feel what my wife achieves when I am alone with all the children.
“I really appreciate what she does,” the 29-year-old said in Die
Welt
.
And that's what counts most for him now: being a good husband and father.
He doesn't want to pretend to be a footballer.
“I'm aware that I might sometimes offend, but I don't think it's worth pretending because of it.
In the end it's about me being a good father, a good husband and a good footballer.
Everyone out there can decide for themselves whether they like what I do or not,” he said.
According to him, whether Kimmich will break new ground again in the summer and dare to go on an adventure abroad depends on one important factor: the new coach.
Because Thomas Tuchel will vacate his place in the summer.
