Biathlon ace ends career
Brandt had his last outing at the Swedish Biathlon Championships last weekend in the mass start.
With his surprising resignation, the Swedish association loses another athlete who was never able to reach the top in the world.
The bloodletting among the Scandinavians continues, as Mona Brorsson and Peppe Femling also ended their biathlon careers.
The 28-year-old said goodbye to fans, friends and companions on his Instagram account.
“After a few hard weeks of emotional conversations with loved ones, I can now say that the Swedish Championships will be my last competition as a biathlete,” he wrote shortly before his final competition.
