Very bad news has just hit the unfortunate Wout van Aert.
The Belgian cyclist suffered a very big fall this Wednesday and was forced to abandon the race Across Flanders.
According to a press release from his team, the rider from the Visma-Lease a Bike team suffers from a broken collarbone and several ribs.
Update Wout van Aert:
Unfortunately, Wout van Aert suffered several fractures in the crash at Dwars door Vlaanderen today.
A broken collarbone and several broken ribs were diagnosed in hospital.
It is unclear how long his recovery will take.
He will definitely miss the Tour…

He fell in a turn taken at full speed, 67 km from the finish.
He got up with difficulty, his shirt completely torn off.
His injury could seriously hamper the rest of his season.
He is already out of the Tour of Flanders this Sunday, then Paris-Roubaix on April 7 and the Amstel.
