The options for getting a ticket for the 2024 European Championship are like a lottery.

There remain limited options – but there is also a silver lining.

Munich – A few months before the 2024 European Championship, one question is coming to the forefront of many German fans’ minds: How do you get EM tickets?

Tickets for the EM 2024: Most of the tickets are already gone

However, the chances of getting one of the coveted tickets for Germany's football festival in the summer are now very limited.

The second application phase has already ended, and 2.2 million of the 2.7 million tickets are now said to be sold out.

Anyone who applied for tickets on the official UEFA website should have received a notification by the end of January this year as to whether their application was successful.

The remaining tickets will go on sale after the European Championship playoffs at the end of March.

Secondary ticket market offers the opportunity to still get EM tickets

People who have so far come away empty-handed still have the chance to get tickets via UEFA's official resale platform.

This portal serves, so to speak, as a secondary market for fans who cannot use their tickets and want to resell them for the original price.

In mid-March (March 13th and 14th) there was already a time window for the resale of EM tickets.

The UEFA website said on Friday (March 22nd) that the final resale phase has already started and will expire on April 15th at 11 a.m.

According to UEFA, there will be no further period for recycling EM tickets after that.

Should the DFB team reach the knockout round, additional ticket contingents will be available

In addition, not many more cards will be available for sale.

After all, if the German national team reaches the knockout rounds at the home European Championship (click here for the European Championship schedule), UEFA will offer the respective participating countries the prospect of further ticket contingents.

There should be 6,000 tickets in the round of 16 and quarter-finals - 7,000 in the semi-finals and another 10,000 if they reach the final.

There are hardly any tickets available for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

The price range for EM tickets is very large

In any case, a maximum of four tickets may be sold per person.

An official return of the tickets, which are all issued personalized, is not possible - only resale via the UEFA resale platform.

After all, it should be possible to pass on a ticket to a family member in the event of illness.

The price range of the tickets should also be taken into account.

If the cheapest amount for a European Championship ticket is 30 euros for a group stage game, a preliminary round ticket in the highest category costs 200 euros.

Prizes for the opening game can be up to 600 euros.

From the knockout round onwards, fans will have to prepare for increased purchase amounts anyway.

In the round of 16 the price range is between 50 and 250 euros, in the final between 95 and 1000 euros.
