In an indirect way, Oliver Kahn makes it clear what he thinks of Uli Hoeneß after his expulsion from FC Bayern.
He uses a patriarch comparison.
Munich - Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge placed their child, FC Bayern, in his lap - and took it away from him again after less than two years.
Because Oliver Kahn had failed in their eyes.
“A big mistake” was his appointment to the top of the club, summed up Hoeneß.
The noisy Kahn dismissal at FC Bayern
In contrast to sports director Hasan Salihamidžić, who was also fired, Kahn was not allowed to travel with the team to Cologne on the last matchday of the season.
Internally, there was a fear of a “volcano” that was out of control.
Because of all this, Kahn did not fare well in public - although he refrained from making a public straightening afterwards.
Instead he remained silent.
Apart from his publicly discussed trip to Saudi Arabia (which he spoke about in the tz
interview , among other things
), not much was heard from Kahn after Bayern's exit.
Now, however, a quote that comes from a Spiegel
report is making waves
.
The magazine accompanied him after his dismissal from Bayern.
Uli Hoeneß withdrew his trust from Oliver Kahn because he didn't think he was capable of managing FC Bayern.

Kahn compares Hoeneß to “Patriarch” from the TV series
When asked by
Spiegel
whether Kahn had not taken sufficient care of Hoeneß, he mentioned a TV series that he enjoyed watching: "Do you know 'Succession'?" Kahn is quoted as saying.
“A great series about a patriarch and powerful media mogul who doesn’t think anyone is capable of inheriting him?”
The plot sounds familiar, Kahn adds.
The fact that this comparison refers to Hoeneß is probably not a bold interpretation.
The Bayern patron subsequently accused Kahn of, among other things, having “only called him five times” during his time in office.

Further Hoeneß allegations: “He largely stayed out of the sport.
Sport is the main task.

And what does Kahn say about that?
“I did my job like a CEO does.
For those who were looking for someone to manage FC Bayern a little, I was the wrong man for them." The 54-year-old emphasizes: "FC Bayern didn't need a rustic Oliver Kahn." (
