A new name appears at FC Bayern as a possible successor to Thomas Tuchel. Contacts from the past could help.
Munich – It is confirmed that Xabi Alonso is the number one dream coach at FC Bayern. But the Spaniard is taking his time with his decision. That doesn't really fit into the self-image of the people of Munich, who are looking for alternatives. With Ralf Rangnick, an old acquaintance of Christoph Freund's comes into the race, who is sent into the race against Max Eberl's apparent favorite - and could provide the perfect interim solution until next year.

Will Rangnick become the blueprint until Klopp is ready?
Signing Rangnick would mean a basket case for Bayern, but it would also give rise to the possibility of reinterpretation. If Ralf Rangnick agrees to a one-year contract, speculation about a major master plan is not far off: a renowned football teacher will take over the star ensemble for a short time until Jürgen Klopp is available again after his break.
However, Rangnick would also have to play a role for this, whose attitude towards Bayern's commitment is not known. The 65-year-old has a number of short-term commitments on his CV, but he also shaped two long-term projects with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. There has been plenty of speculation in recent weeks as to which coach could take over at Bayern instead of Alonso. One name in particular came into focus, also because he is considered number two favorite by Bayern sports director Max Eberl: Roberto de Zerbi. The Italian is currently head coach at Premier League club Brighton.
However, according to reports, other top clubs are after de Zerbi. Including Liverpool and FC Barcelona. It is the three football heavyweights - Barca, Liverpool and Bayern - who are looking for a new coach this summer. And so it is not surprising that the first rumors about Rangnick's involvement with the Catalans were already making the rounds. (
