The 32nd round of the Euroleague, which began with the victory of Maccabi Tel Aviv over Valencia, continues tonight (Thursday) with five games, with great significance for the playoff and play-in battles. As for the Yellows - they secured at least the eighth place in the table, but stayed away from the top 6.

Bayern Munich - Barcelona 87:79

After the painful losses to Panathinaikos and Monaco, which cost them second place, Barcelona recovered but the ticket to the playoffs was not yet guaranteed. The Catalans took the lead at the start and raced forward in the second quarter, with Alex Abrins scoring a crushing 19:38. In the third quarter, the advantage grew, and from there all that was left for the Bavarians to do was to try and sweeten the pill, but they can already say goodbye to the play-in race. Parker led the way with 15 points, Niko Leprobitola added 14. Nick Wheeler Babb finished with 17 for the loser.

Zalgiris - Milan 73:87

Fourth victory in a row for the Lithuanians over the Italians, and now they too are back in the hot fight for the tenth place and the last ticket to the play-in. After a tight first half, the host ran away against Ettore Messina's disappointing team, which could not find answers to the excellent Keenan Evans (20 points), who took command in money time and closed the game. Edmund Sumner added 17 (6 of 6 from the field). Nikola Mirotic finished with 19 which was not enough on the other hand, and now both teams have the same record - 14 wins, 18 losses. Zalgiris now holds the tiebreaker over the Italians.

Baskonia - Anadolu Zero 74:97

A fourth victory in the last five rounds returned Anadolu to the play-in picture - and in a big way. The Turks started well, scoring 32 points already in the first quarter (12 of them by Will Clyburn) and ran to a double-digit lead. The Basques reduced the lead to 49:45 at the end of the first half, but Eps flew forward with a 2:15 run in the third quarter, running to 52:74 and closing the game. Baskonia continues to lose ground with a fourth loss in a row. Shane Larkin excelled with 28 points, Clyburn added 20 and Eps snatched tenth place from Partizan Belgrade. Cody Miller McIntyre finished with 13 on the other hand.

Partizan Belgrade - Olympiakos 74:69

The European runner-up came back from a big hole, much to the chagrin of Maccabi Tel Aviv, and now Olympiakos has a 12:20 record compared to the Yellows' 13:19. The start went close, before the host escaped to 30:40 with the descent to the dressing rooms led by Kevin Panter, PJ Dozer and Bruno Cabulco. Frank Kaminsky scored 46:59 with the advance to the decisive quarter, but the guest came back with a run and became 61:62. Frank Kaminsky equalized to 69:69, but in the next attack he and Dozer missed, and on the other hand Nigel Williams-Goss (16 points) closed interest from the line. Punter finished with 19 for the losers, who lost tenth place to Anadolu Efes.

Villerban v Monaco (22:00)

Villerban is one of only three teams already in the flight, but they will be happy to get a prestigious victory in the French derby against Monaco, who are battling with Panathinaikos and Barcelona for second place in the regular season. Mike James and his friends completely control the balance between the two, but suffered an embarrassing home loss just a week ago against Milan. All that's left for Villerban is to spoil Monaco, not sure she can.

What is left for the teams fighting for sixth place?

  • Maccabi Tel Aviv - Barcelona (away), Milan (home)

  • Olympiakos - Red Star Belgrade (away), Fenerbahce (home)

  • Fenerbahce - Alba Berlin (home), Anadolu Efes (home), Olympiakos (away)
