Bryan Zaragoza has not yet been able to get started at FC Bayern. His relationship with Thomas Tuchel is said to be tense. However, the Bayern coach doesn't want to know anything about it.

Munich – Bryan Zaragoza only came to FC Bayern in the winter and is already being treated as a possible transfer misunderstanding. The Spaniard has played no role at all under Thomas Tuchel and has only played 35 minutes. The Bayern coach and Zaragoza were recently said to have a strained relationship. At the press conference before the top game against Dortmund, Tuchel reacted with clear words.

Tuchel reacts annoyed when asked about Bayern's new signing Zaragoza

“I don’t even know if it’s worth answering,” Tuchel began, visibly annoyed, in the media group, answering the question about how he had a bad relationship with the 22-year-old newcomer. “I would say with a certain immodesty that I was not uninvolved in the decision that he signed with Bayern in the first place.”

Zaragoza's move to Munich was actually only planned for next summer. However, the acute personnel shortage in Bayern's offensive with the long-term injuries of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman led Bayern to explore the possibilities of moving forward with the Spaniard's move.

Tuchel on Zaragoza: “Took him out of a familiar environment”

Ultimately, Bayern and the transferring club FC Granada agreed on an early loan transfer - the Munich team had to pay a fee of around four million for this.

Tuchel is also likely to have done some convincing during the process. “That doesn’t work without a relationship and it also doesn’t work without conversations. We took him out of a familiar environment. We were aware of that too. We tore him out of his German lessons there,” explained the FCB coach at the PK on Good Friday.

Language barrier makes Zaragoza's integration with Bavaria more difficult

Above all, the language barrier currently seems to be slowing Zaragoza's integration with the German record champions. Tuchel made no secret of this a few weeks ago. “First and foremost, Bryan just doesn’t have the language,” he explained at the time about the Spaniard’s difficult early days at Bayern. “It's difficult in English and difficult in German. That is an elementary component.”

In any case, there doesn't seem to be much progress yet regarding the difficult communication between players and coaches. “Our meetings take place in German and English and also with an interpreter. I still can't speak Spanish. My assistant coach Nico Maier can do that and that’s why Nico is his main contact person,” reports Tuchel on the PK before the BVB clash (you can find all the TV information here).

Eberl is said to be convinced by Zaragoza

However, the Bayern coach, who is leaving in the summer, does not want to know anything about a bad relationship, as was claimed in the Spanish television program “El chiringuito”. “If you want to conclude that I don’t talk to him or don’t have a relationship, then that’s just nonsense,” says Tuchel.

In any case, Zaragoza is said to have important supporters in the club, including sports director Max Eberl. A new trainer will also be coming to Säbener Straße in the summer. From Zaragoza's perspective, things can only get better.
