Felix Neureuther is celebrating his 40th birthday. There were congratulations from his long-time friend Bastian Schweinsteiger - along with painful memories.
Munich – They are two of the most famous sports greats in Bavaria and have caused a sensation far beyond the borders of the Free State. One, Bastian Schweinsteiger, in football. The other, Felix Neureuther, on skis. The two have known each other since childhood - and are still friends today.
With children's photos and a side swipe: Schweinsteiger congratulates Neureuther on his big birthday
That's why the pig congratulated Felix on his 40th birthday (March 26th). The former FC Bayern Munich midfielder shared some photos from the past decades on Instagram. The two can be seen as children in ski outfits, at a joint press event, at a Neureuther award ceremony and in the Allianz Arena.
Schweinsteiger writes: “Ois Guade for your 40th, my friend! Stay as you are and hopefully you'll have a little race again - you know who wins." The soccer world champion adds a wink emoji after it - alluding to a well-known chapter from their shared past.
Schweinsteiger once defeated Neureuther on the ski slopes
Schweinsteiger was an outstanding skier in his youth and could probably have pursued this career as well as that of a footballer. Ultimately, he decided on the round leather. But he always likes to remind his old friend Neureuther that he once defeated the future world champion on the slopes as a youth.
They recently proved together that the two of them are still good skiers. Schweinsteiger and Neureuther also made a white sausage faux pas in the spring of 2024 - Neureuther even provided the explanation for this on TV a short time later.

Schweinsteiger congratulations to Neureuther: There was initially no counterattack
He himself reacted to his long-time companion's congratulations with a red heart emoji. There was no immediate and public reaction to the little swipe - at least initially. Neureuther, who recently spoke about his late mother Rosi Mittermaier, should come up with something else.
A brilliant idea would also suit FC Bayern, as Schweinsteiger recently noted.
