FC Bayern Munich can again rely on a secret weapon in the classic against Borussia Dortmund: Kingsley Coman is considered a BVB terror.
Munich – The classic comes across differently than you are used to. Neither the German champions FC Bayern nor the vice-champions Borussia Dortmund greet from the top of the table before the direct duel. Nevertheless, there is still a lot at stake for both teams.
While Bayern want to keep their minimal chance of winning the title alive and warm up for the Champions League quarter-finals against Arsenal, BVB is worried about taking part in the premier class next season. The Munich team can again fall back on a Dortmund scare that makes losing against Westphalia seem impossible.

Kingsley Coman is about to make a comeback after a two-month injury break. The French winger suffered a torn medial ligament in his left knee during the 3-2 win in Augsburg at the end of January. In addition to Serge Gnabry, who has already shone as a joker with a goal in each of the last two games, coach Thomas Tuchel now has several alternatives on the offensive before the BVB duel.
“Kingsley is of course a huge factor for us. Serge was one of the best in preparation and we will be missing for almost the entire season. “The two of them are super important, they have speed, a goal threat and an incredible sense of duty when defending,” said Tuchel, praising his two offensive stars. “The competition will be what we actually wanted it to be all along. Hopefully that will make a difference again.” Their “quality is beyond question and the influence they have on the team offensively and defensively is simply great,” said Tuchel.

BVB scare: Kingsley Coman is undefeated against Dortmund in the Bundesliga
“It's always difficult when you're injured because you can't help your team and have to watch,” Coman himself is quoted by FC Bayern. “I worked a lot to get back. Now I feel good and fit. I'm really looking forward to being back on the pitch.” The comeback comes at exactly the right time, because BVB is something like Coman's favorite opponent.
Coman played twelve times with Bayern in the Bundesliga against Dortmund, eleven times the Munich team emerged victorious and once there was a draw. That's a record: No other player in the top German league appeared in this special duel so often without losing once. Even more: BVB-Schreck Coman contributed two goals and provided two assists against Dortmund. “I really hope that I can continue to build on these statistics at the weekend and that we will win,” Coman revealed: “It’s always a very special game, the classic in Germany. We will give it our all.”

Coman now wants to get back to top form in the crucial weeks for FC Bayern. “We have to win every Bundesliga game to keep the faith. Then we'll see what happens," said Coman, who is already keeping an eye on the cracking games against Arsenal in the Champions League: "A difficult round awaits us. If we do well in the Bundesliga, we will have more self-confidence for these games. We want to maintain our form and gain self-confidence with victories.” Ultimately, Coman’s winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final against PSG will never be forgotten.
