Stay with the DFB or move to FC Bayern? Julian Nagelsmann is not the only one likely to ask himself this question in the coming weeks.
Munich – Xabi Alonso won't, nor will Sebastian Hoeneß. We are of course talking about Tuchel's successor at FC Bayern. Will it even end up being its predecessor? It is no longer a secret that Julian Nagelsmann can imagine a return to Säbener Straße.
Sandro Wagner probably plays a role in Bayern's considerations
And the Bayern bosses should also think intensively about the thought game. According to information from the
Bild
newspaper, the current national coach was “washed back up” in the internal coaching rankings. Alongside the Italian Roberto De Zerbi, Nagelsmann is currently the hottest stock.
In keeping with this, those responsible at Bayern are said to have already thought about the new coaching team surrounding the 36-year-old. And according to Sky information, none other than Sandro Wagner will play a role in this.

Trio before returning to FC Bayern?
According to the report, Nagelsmann's current assistant coach should become "an important part of the coaching team" in the event that the Munich team actually decide to bring their former coach back. It has not gone unnoticed by the record champions that the duo, including assistant coach Benjamin Glück, are currently in harmony at the DFB.
If this scenario actually happens, it would be a return to the Bavarian capital for the entire trio. Glück worked as his assistant coach during Nagelsmann's first term in office, Wagner played for Munich from 2018 to 2019. Eberl & Co. would probably have to do some convincing, especially with the former Bayern striker.

Wagner could succeed Nagelsmann as national coach
As Sky reports, the 37-year-old is currently leaning towards staying with the DFB. If Nagelsmann does not extend his contract as national coach, Wagner could even take over as his successor for the time being - as dream coach Jürgen Klopp wants to take a year off after his Liverpool departure.
Bayern or DFB? It's not just Nagelsmann who will be asking himself this question in the next few weeks... (
