A former manager of a football club in Haute-Savoie was sentenced to ten years in prison on Wednesday in a case of sexual assault on minors under 15 years old.
This 57-year-old man, former co-president of US Pringy, was found guilty of six of the
“eight acts of sexual assault”
for which he was tried at the Annecy court, his lawyer told AFP. , Me Quentin Marchandise.
The affair broke out in May 2022 following a trip to Vendée organized by the club, during which the defendant attacked boys aged around ten.
Already convicted in the past
The individual, already sentenced to prison in the past in cases of rape and sexual assault on minors, was nevertheless prohibited from exercising any activity in contact with young people.
For this reason, the former president of the US Pringy, also called to the bar, was sentenced to four months in prison for
“complicity in exercising the function of professor, monitor, educator, trainer or facilitator physical or sporting activity despite incapacity or prohibition
.
The case was also marred by a procedural problem, which led to the release under judicial supervision in October of the accused, to the great dismay of the civil parties.
This man, whom a prosecutor had described as a
“sexual predator”
during a previous hearing, was incarcerated on Wednesday.
“He has socio-judicial monitoring for 10 years, with various obligations, in particular that of care
,” explained Mr. Marchandise.
