Kristijan Jakic is currently on loan at FC Augsburg from Eintracht Frankfurt. If the purchase option were exercised, SGE would receive a sum in the millions.
Augsburg/Frankfurt – Kristijan Jakic was no longer first choice at Eintracht Frankfurt and mostly came off the bench. Head coach Dino Toppmöller trusted other players and so there was no room left for the Croatian. Jakic went on loan to Augsburg in the winter, where he thrived and could possibly stay long-term.
Eintracht loan before permanent move to FCA
Jakic saw his participation in the 2024 European Championship in danger due to the short playing times at Eintracht Frankfurt and, according to
Bild
information, pushed for a change in order to play more. So far the move has been a success, with the Croatian securing a regular place and enjoying a successful second half of the season with the Augsburg team, who still have every chance of qualifying for an international competition.
A purchase option is anchored in the loan agreement that Eintracht Frankfurt and the Fuggerstädter signed. According to
Sky
information, Augsburg is also willing to pull this and thus tie Jakic firmly to them. The Adler would then apparently receive a transfer fee of five million euros.

The 26-year-old initially moved to Hesse from Dinamo Zagreb on loan in the summer of 2021. After a strong season with 38 competitive games, he was signed permanently and was part of the permanent staff under then head coach Oliver Glasner the next year. He was then sidelined under Toppmöller.
Jakic is apparently not returning to Eintracht Frankfurt
In total, the Croatian played 82 games in the SGE jersey, in which he recorded two goals and assists and played his part in the historic win of the 2022 Europa League. In the following season he was used in all of Frankfurt's Champions League games.

With my consistent style of play, I fit in very well with Augsburg's game idea and I'm excited to be able to wear the FCA jersey soon," said Kristijan Jakic upon his move to Augsburg.
