His presence at the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastián, last Sunday for the match between Bayonne and Toulon (46-10 victory for the Var), already indicated a rapprochement with Rowing. It is now official since this Wednesday, Joris Segonds will leave Stade Français in the off-season. The opener will sign up for five years with Bayonne.
The Frenchman, who will celebrate his 27th birthday this Saturday, has played in the Parisian team since 2019. In five seasons, he has scored 989 points for the “Pink Soldiers”. As for Rowing Bayonnais, he should take over from the Basque Camille Lopez, who plans to end his career at the end of the 2024-2025 financial year. The two men will therefore share a transition season next year.

This season, Joris Segonds played 20 matches with Stade Français, including 14 as a starter. The Parisian club is still the leader of the Top 14, three points ahead of Stade Toulouse. Coincidentally with the calendar, the Ile-de-France residents' next match is scheduled for Saturday April 20 against... Aviron Bayonnais. It will take place at the Jean-Bouin stadium, at 5 p.m.
