Wife Simone posted a story on her Instagram account that shows her husband Roland with a Maxi-Cosi in his hand. In it little Lorenz, who leaves the hospital with his parents. “Welcome home,” she wrote and also published the child’s name and date of birth.

A new phase of their lives is now beginning for the Leitingers, because little Lorenz will keep the couple on their toes and need a lot of attention. It's good for him that dad Roland no longer has to travel around the world for the World Cup races, but can stay at home in Tyrol with his little family.

The 32-year-old hung up his skis in February. “Time to say goodbye. Ski racing, you have given me so much and you have also challenged me so incredibly. I was able to live my dream of you for so many years. Through you I have learned and seen so much, for which I am incredibly grateful. But now I felt that it was time to say thank you and goodbye to the sport as a racer. But I will carry you in my heart forever and this fire that I feel for you will never go out,” Leitinger wrote on his Instagram account at the time.
