Eintracht Frankfurt has loaned offensive player Faride Alidou to 1. FC Köln. What's next for the 22-year-old from summer onwards?
Frankfurt/Cologne – Faride Alidou is considered one of the great German talents who has the potential to have a decent Bundesliga career. The 22-year-old didn't make a breakthrough at Eintracht Frankfurt, but after his loan to 1. FC Köln, the Hamburg native showed the quality he undoubtedly possesses.
Eintracht loan Alidou to 1. FC Köln?
Alidou is under contract with the Rhinelanders until the end of the season. FC then has the opportunity to sign him permanently using an option. In this case, Eintracht Frankfurt would receive a transfer fee of around three million euros. According to information from
Sport Bild,
1. FC Köln also wants to use this purchase option.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt still has a buyback option up its sleeve. If the SGE is convinced of the 22-year-old's potential and head coach Dino Toppmöller wants him in his squad next season, Alidou could be bought back for around five million euros. It is currently unclear whether the Eagles plan to do this.

In Cologne, Alidou initially had difficulty getting going and played no role at all in the first half of the season under head coach Steffen Baumgart. It was only when he was replaced by Timo Schultz in the winter that the offensive player turned up the heat. “With the new coach everything is going a little better, everyone plays more openly. “He gives us the confidence we need,” he told pay-TV channel
Sky
a few weeks ago .
Alidou's future will probably become clear after the end of the season
Alidou scored four goals in the second half of the season, including a brace in the derby at Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the remaining match days of the 2023/24 season, in which 1. FC Köln is still fighting to stay in the league, the Eintracht loan is one of the hopes. His offensive qualities should at least save FC from relegation.

Faride Alidou's future will only be finally clarified after the season. If 1. FC Köln is relegated, the plan to use the purchase option could become invalid. In the 2nd Bundesliga, the Rhinelanders will hardly be able to spend such a sum on a player. (
