FC Bayern visited 1. FC Heidenheim on Saturday. The dress rehearsal before the CL clash at Arsenal FC. The individual criticism of the record champions' performance.

Heidenheim – Before the game at 1. FC Heidenheim even kicked off, there was already pressure on FC Bayern again.

On the one hand, this was due to the bloodless performance the previous week in the classic against BVB (0:2). On the other hand, coach Tuchel was really frustrated because he had to sign five stars due to injuries. In addition, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund spoke about the search for a coach - and made people sit up and take notice with his statements about Julian Nagelsmann.

But the Munich team initially didn't allow themselves to be influenced by all of this and delivered a confident and dominant first half. Harry Kane rewarded the Tuchel team with the lead in the 37th minute. Serge Gnabry served the striker for his 32nd goal of the season. A few minutes later Gnabry increased the score to 2-0 after a Davies cross (45'). So it went into the break.

But then Bayern's glory was over: after the break, a completely different picture emerged! The hosts equalized within a minute to make it 2-2 (50th and 51st) and literally overran Bayern. As a result, a spectacular exchange of blows developed with opportunities for both sides. Kane in particular missed the lead for Munich twice.

Things got really bitter in the 80th minute when Tim Kleindienst scored the not undeserved 3-2 for the aggressive newcomers after a great counterattack.

Next Tuesday, FC Bayern have to face Arsenal in the Champions League. The Tuchel team certainly didn't gain any confidence with this performance.

Sven Ulreich

His second game in a row was probably the last - because Manuel Neuer from Munich posted pictures shortly before kick-off that were supposed to document his way back into the goal. Ulreich could have watched this in detail on his cell phone in the first half, because nothing came of his goal anyway. That changed suddenly in the second half. Powerless to score, there was a strong save in the 72nd minute. But nothing helped.

Joshua Kimmich

He was the only Bayern player to show normal form against Dortmund and hit passable crosses this time too. At first there was more going over the right side than over the left, but Kimmich also appeared again and again in the middle. He made a lot of moves and carried his teammates along for a long time. But he was quite optimistic when Heidenheim's first offensive efforts led to success and was later part of the back four that conceded three goals.

Dayot Upamecano

Doesn't have any good memories of his last starting eleven - he saw yellow-red against Leipzig at the end of February. Now that Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier hadn't always looked solid, he was allowed to get going again. Played a lot of diagonal balls and was spot on during Heidenheim's rare offensive efforts in the first 45 minutes. But then he made serious inattention when conceding goals. The afternoon suddenly became tiring and uncomfortable. Absolutely no advertising for an Arsenal appearance.

Minjae Kim

It's not a long-running favorite in 2024 - but it wants to be again. And so the chance that Thomas Tuchel gave him three days before the guest appearance at Arsenal suited him well. Because Heidenheim was harmless for a long time, he was able to gain security in the build-up to the game. Every now and then a ball bounced, an alleged handball (48') went unpunished - and he didn't look good when he conceded both goals. What remains in memory is a lost header duel and far too much space for Tim Kleindienst and Marvin Pieringer.

Alphonso Davies

The performance against BVB was subpar, this time the first actions seemed much more determined. The fact that his actions still included inaccurate passes and unnecessary fouls fits with the Canadian's current overall picture. But the fact that he served Serge Gnabry, among others, before the 2-0 (45th minute) gave hope that the form curve is pointing upwards. Later, when the game was different, defensively it was right and important a few times. But at least three times too little.

Grade: 5

Leon Goretzka

The first shot was blocked (5th), but that didn't bother Goretzka. Was often involved in the build-up of the game, but also in the offensive game. A better performance from the current long-time favorite on the six for over 45 minutes, but then just as uncertain as everyone else - and without any brilliant idea for the winning goal.

Konrad Laimer

The first cross of the game came from him (2nd), the effort and desire were right. As usual, took on the more offensive role in front of the defense and also played a lot of one-twos with Kimmich on the right. Seized the ball before the 2-0 win and actually delivered a solid performance. But you could also tell he had a lack of self-confidence after conceding two quick goals. He left a lot of ground and in the final phase was more likely to attract attention with angry gestures than good deeds.

Grade: 5

Serge Gnabry

Was last in the starting line-up on November 11th and was able to come on the left side quite surprisingly this time. The first crosses were too imprecise, but he found his way into the game better and better and consequently fed Harry Kane before the 1-0 (38th minute). He made it 2-0 (45th) with his head, but after the equalizer he also lost ground.

Thomas Müller

Acted as captain in his 700th competitive game for FC Bayern - and also wanted to lead his teammates. Gesticulated and shouted a lot, even discussed things here and there - and had the best chance to make it 1-0 in the 27th minute. He later played a significant role in the creation of the overdue opening goal by Harry Kane. A role that he likes better than that of the leader after negative experiences. When it was 2-2, he just shook his head. And when it was 3:2 anyway.

Jamal Musiala

Took the central role in the line behind Harry Kane and had good ideas from there. However, the accuracy and coordination with the people next to him were not always right. Needed something before he was really in the game. And then had to do damage control. He almost succeeded in making it 3-0 and it was immensely important. Just like the 3:2 later.

Harry Kane

Was often surrounded by three Heidenheimers and was therefore limited in scope for action. Still tried to get involved in the offensive game, secured a lot of balls and kept appearing in the right places. This was also the case in the 38th minute, when he scored his 32nd goal of the season after a Gnabry cross from eleven meters into the bottom left corner. On the way to the 33rd, he lost his nerve when the score was 2:2 alone in front of the goal.
