Dresden – Things aren’t going well at Dynamo Dresden at the moment. The traditional club, which had aimed for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, has slipped to fourth place in the 3rd league table. Most recently there was a 0-1 defeat at direct rivals Preußen Münster. Since the home win against TSV 1860 Munich, there has been no sense of success in the league. There is unrest in the club's environment, and there has even been strong hostility against player Stefan Kutschke.

Dynamo player Kutschke receives threatening letter

The center forward received a threatening letter in which he and his family members were confronted with extreme hostility, warnings and even a death threat, the club announced.

“All employees, whether players, coaches or in the office, enjoy our full support. As a sports community, we are always open to criticism. However, it is important to adhere to certain limits. In the case of Stefan Kutschke, these were clearly exceeded and are in no way acceptable to us. We strongly condemn such an approach and will react to it with the utmost severity,” David Fischer, Managing Director of Communications at Dynamo Dresden, is quoted as saying in the club’s statement.

Dynamo Dresden has reported the case according to its own information. The threatening letter addressed to Kutschke is now part of the investigation. Recently, there have been frequent hostilities from individual club members on the club's social media accounts. Dynamo Dresden reacts to this with complete incomprehension. “As anchored in the mission statement, the fundamental strength of the sports community lies in cohesion. We act respectfully, humanely and fairly,” is the end of the SGD’s official statement.

Association condemns threats against Kutschke

Head coach Markus beginning can understand the general dissatisfaction due to the current performances and results. “I think because of our first half of the season, many people thought that we would carry that into the second half of the season and unfortunately we are currently having problems with results. We hoped for something different and I believe that it would have been possible given the way the game played. It's normal that there is dissatisfaction and criticism, but we have to analyze the games the way they went," he said at the press conference before the game against 1. FC Saarbrücken.

“We work hard in training every day and try to give the boys security in order to get the three points at the weekend. “That’s what the team wants in every game,” the head coach continued. With the threatening letter against Kutschke, the limits were clearly exceeded. (
