The rematch between Cédric Doumbè and Baysangur 'Baki' Chamsoudinov is moving away. Rassoul Chamsoudinov, brother of Baki, affirmed that the PFL, the league in which the two men fight, is “
a little slow to relax
”: “
If the PFL had done things right, they would have made a proposal for a rematch in the two weeks following the fight,”
he explained in the latest episode of
The Fight Club podcast.
“
I don’t think there will be a rematch. Baki is aiming for the UFC and we can't sit around waiting for a rematch. Today we proved what Baki was worth, and we are moving forward,”
he continues. The first clash between Baki and Doumbè, one of the most anticipated in the history of MMA in France, took place during PFL Paris 2 at the Accor Arena on March 7. Baki triumphed after the fight was stopped by the referee for a splinter in Doumbè's foot. Frustrated by this grotesque outcome, fans impatiently awaited the rematch. They might be disappointed again.
