When asked whether Felix Neureuther or his wife Miri is fitter, the ex-ski professional has a clear answer. That makes for a strange sight.
Munich / Garmisch – Felix Neureuther is now also in the top four – at least in terms of age. On March 26th, the most successful German skier in the World Cup celebrated his 40th birthday. Of course, my friend Bastian Schweinsteiger didn't miss the opportunity to congratulate him on his special day, including a swipe.
Neureuther and his wife Miri often make for unusual sights
The two sports greats have known each other since childhood and recently spent another day skiing together. This is likely to be the case even more often with his wife Miri and his three children.
Anyone who finds the couple together in the mountains could be treated to a rather unusual sight, as Neureuther himself recently explained on the WDR program “Kölner Treff”. Although the 40-year-old only retired from active skiing in 2019, Neureuther has to take after his Miri when it comes to fitness.

Unusual distribution of roles for the Neureuther family on the mountain
“She is so incredibly fit. As a skier, you are an absolute loser,” reports the ex-ski professional. No wonder: Miriam Neureuther was active in biathlon and cross-country skiing until 2019. That's why the two of them sometimes have a rather unusual distribution of roles on a topic.
“When we go up the mountain, there is a Kraxn (child carrier;

) where you can put your children in the back. And she just has to carry it and then I take the sticks. She says herself: 'Let me carry that, then we'll be quick,'” explains Neureuther.

The two of them don't always go unrecognized: “When we go up to the huts together and someone comes towards us, I often hear from afar: 'Oh look, that woman is carrying the child', and then when they walk past , it means: 'That was the Neureuther: What's wrong with him?'"
In order to avoid more such sayings, Neureuther has now developed a trick: “I have a little deal with her: When we are close to the hut, she will give me the Kraxn”. The 40-year-old is also not above accepting help from other women when shopping... (
