Patiently riding close to the front runners thanks to his small number of ropes (2), Etatique (n°17) was chomping at the bit for a long time before being able to gain his speed and referee the fight between
Short Final
(n°9) and
Half Half
(n°3), coming from the back rows, finished well in the middle of the track. Long at the back of the peloton after starting from stall 17,
Kendly
(n°14) produced a superb straight line to take fourth place, at the expense of the favorite
Lamaken
(n°1), who directed the operations before suffering attacks in the last hundred and fifty meters.
Already winner of a big handicap a little over a year ago,
Etatique
undoubtedly won the best victory of his career and confirmed his aptitude for heavy terrain. It also allows his jockey Eddy Hardouin to sign a 62nd victory in the quintés.
Dimitri Fortin indicated the quinté in the disorder in seven horses in our columns.
