Final whistle! One last corner of smoke finds no taker. Shortly afterwards it's over.

90+2. Minute

: Horst Hrubesch also makes his last substitution. Pia Wolter comes onto the pitch for captain Gwinn for the last seconds.

90th minute:

There are two minutes of added time.

89th minute:

The fourth goal just won't come! Minge puts the ball through to Gwinn on the right, who runs to the baseline and then crosses into the middle. Schüller and Bühl are practically standing next to each other there. The latter gets to the ball, but can't head it towards the goal. There was more to it.

87th minute:

It's getting too tight in front of the Icelandic penalty area. Oberdorf gets the ball and shoots from distance again. Once again her long-range shot goes just over the goal.

86th minute:

Bühl takes a free kick from the half field into the box onto Oberdorf's head. However, the conclusion is not really dangerous. In the last few minutes, the DFB women no longer had much of a chance to move forward.

83rd minute:

This time a corner from the right comes into the German penalty area better. Antonsdottir has a completely free header from around 11 meters. However, Berger is in the right place and can intercept the ball.

81st minute:

Iceland tries the offensive again. However, the 1.80 meter tall goalkeeper Berger can easily intercept a corner from the right side.

77th minute:

Horst Hrubesch makes the next changes. Jule Brand leaves the pitch after a strong game and Endemann comes into the game. Senß also leaves the field and Lina Magull comes on for her.

77th minute:

Germany continues to run, but is currently making the wrong decisions in the last third of the attack. In this case, Schüller tries a shot from 15 meters. The ending is too playful.

74th minute:

Schüller really wants the hat-trick. The striker is sent into the penalty area on the right and shoots straight away. Birkisdottir can parry.

72nd minute:

The ball falls to Oberdorf's feet around 20 meters from the goal. The midfielder doesn't hesitate for long. Her powerful shot from a central position just grazes the crossbar.

70th minute:

Germany continues to work on their fourth goal. Once again it's Bühl on the left side who starts dribbling and hits a nice cross to the second post. However, Schüller leans on her opponent when trying to get the ball. Free kick for Iceland.

68th minute:

Jule Brand on the right plays a strong game, as does Klara Bühl on the left. This time Brand's shot from the right corner of the penalty area goes just over.

65th minute:

Double substitution for Germany: Rauch comes on for Linder, Minge replaces Nüsken.

Germany against Iceland: Brand heads the post

62nd minute:

Bad luck for Germany!

Linder crosses from the left side precisely to Brand's head at the second post. She prevails against two opponents, but only heads the ball onto the left inside post. That would almost have been 4:1.

62nd minute:

After the corner, the ball landed indirectly at Senß on the edge of the penalty area. From a central position, the end is clearly over to the left.

60th minute:

Oberdorf takes a free kick in midfield with a beautiful diagonal ball directly to Bühl. On the left, the striker moves directly into the middle. Your shot is cleared for a corner at the last moment.

57th minute

: Iceland is now becoming a little bolder. Again Johannsdottir is found in the penalty area by a cross. However, her header lands on the goal net.

55th minute

: Bühl fires his first warning shot in the second half. But Birkisdottir has no problems with the central low shot.

53rd minute

: After a long time, the guests finish again. Johannsdottir is served on the edge of the penalty area and finishes after turning. However, Berger has no problems with the weak shot.

52nd minute:

The Icelanders have hardly been dangerous in the German half since Jonsdottir was replaced due to injury.

48th minute

: Oberdorf hits a long ball on the right side to Brand. It leaves a player standing and fits flat in the middle. Senß shoots past from around 11 meters.

46th minute:

Germany continues where it left off in the first half. High attack pressure leads to loss of the ball. The ball goes out to Bühl on the left. This time the cross finds no taker in the middle.

Kick-off of the 2nd half! We continue in Aachen. There are no personnel changes.

Half-time conclusion:

And then there is a break in a lively encounter between Germany and Iceland. After the DFB women's lightning start by Schüller in the 4th minute, the guests made their first really dangerous move to get a not undeserved equalizer because the DFB defense was too careless. Undeterred by the setback, Schüller took the lead again after a cross from the strong Bühl. Shortly before the break, Germany were lucky when the ball bounced to Oberdorf's feet after a corner and the lead was even greater. It's about to continue.

Half time!

Germany against Iceland: Oberdorf increased shortly before the break

45+3. Minute:

GOOOOOOR for Germany!

When Bühl took the second corner, there was a lot of chaos in the guests' penalty area. Nüsken's header is initially blocked, but lands directly at the feet of Oberdorf, who only has to push the ball over the line from a short distance. Important goal, just before half-time.

45+2. Minute:

Since Jonsdottir's injury, the guests have hardly been able to threaten the Germans' half. The DFB women, however, want to increase their lead before the break. Bühl hits two dangerous corners from the right side into the penalty area.

45th minute:

There are three minutes of added time.

43rd minute:

The pressure from Germany is growing! In a detour, the ball ends up back at the very active Bühl, who takes a powerful shot from around 13 meters from the left. The low shot whizzes just past the right post.

42nd minute:

Next good chance for Germany. Again Brand gets through to the baseline on the right wing and is allowed to cross. Schüller misses in the middle, but the ball ends up at the second post to Bühl, who doesn't face the ball properly when she finishes and misses the ball.

39th minute:

Nice attack by the Germans: Brand passes back to Gwinn on the right side. It fits flat in the middle to Oberdorf, which goes straight through to the incoming fire. However, the cross ultimately ends up in the arms of the goalkeeper.

38th minute:

For Germany, a lot of things depend on the outside positions. Giulia Gwinn moves from the right side to the middle and looks for Schüller in the penalty area. The ball slips through and hits the goal. But Birkisdottir can parry.

36th minute:

Arnadottir clearly pulls Oberdorf down in a Germany counterattack and sees yellow.

Germany against Iceland: Schüller heads in again

34th minute:

TOOOOR for Germany

! So now the tour! Once again it goes over the left side. Bühl prevails against two opponents and once again hits a dream cross. Schüller starts at the near post and scores the second header goal of the day.

34th minute:

Germany almost takes the lead! Again it goes over the left. At the edge of the penalty area, Bühl delivers the next good cross into the middle, this time onto Schüller's head. The header just misses the second post.

32nd minute:

Oberdorf plays the ball on the left to Bühl, who plays a nice cross into the middle. Nüsken waits there and shoots with a volley. The shot goes over to the left.

31st minute:

Now it's the end for Jonsdottir. She returned to the field for a brief moment, but the pain in her left shoulder was too great. Nielsdottir comes into the game. The failure is a serious blow for the guests. Jonsdottir was involved in virtually every dangerous action.

30th minute:

After several minutes of treatment, it continues for Jonsdottir, who returns to the field with a bandaged arm.

26th minute:

The DFB women want to strike back immediately, but are too hasty in finishing. On the other hand, Hendrich goes too hard in a duel against Jonsdottir and receives the first yellow card of the game. The VfL Wolfsburg attacker, who has had a very eye-catching game so far, has apparently had a tougher time of it. She needs to be treated on the pitch.

Germany against Iceland: DFB defense in deep sleep

23rd minute: GOOD for Iceland

! There is compensation for the guests and that is too easy. Zomers is released on the left side. Gwinn is too hesitant and lets the attacker cross. Several players miss the ball in the penalty area. Eiriksdottir is finally there at the far post and pushes the ball from an acute angle past Berger's legs and into the goal. The compensation is not undeserved.

20th minute:

Disorder again with a high ball in the German penalty area. This time it's a long throw-in from Jonsdottir from the right side. The ball passes all players. Again, the DFB women's defense didn't look good here.

18th minute

: The Icelanders have now recovered somewhat after the early shock and are also better defensively. Nüsken wants to set Brand in the penalty area, but Birkisdottir rushes out and intercepts the ball.

15th minute:

Big chance for Iceland! Schulze Solano fouls Zomers in midfield. The guests hit the free kick long into the penalty area. Viggosdottir wins the header duel and passes to Sigurdardottir, who started at the near post. From an acute angle, the direct take goes just over it. Lucky for Berger in the DFB Women's goal.

12th minute:

Now Iceland's first shot from around 16 meters. But Berger in goal can safely pick up Zomers' low shot.

11th minute:

Gwinn crosses from the right halffield into the middle. Birkisdottir in the Icelandic goal doesn't attack energetically enough. The second ball ends up with Senß, who sends Oberdorf into the depths. But the goalkeeper is finally able to capture the shot from a tight angle.

9th minute:

A beautiful diagonal ball lands on Bühl's left. The striker moves towards the middle at speed, but is then blocked by Viggosdottir.

7th minute:

Germany takes control of the game from the start. In the first few minutes, the Icelanders just run after the ball and their opponents.

Germany against Iceland: dream start for DFB women

4th minute:

TOOOOOR for Germany!

Lea Schüller heads in to give Germany an early lead. Senß finishes in a central position. The attempt is blocked and ends up with Gwinn, who passes the ball out to Linder on the left. The full-back hits a buttery-soft cross from the halffield onto Schüller's head, which hits the top left corner from eleven meters. Dream start for the DFB women.

3rd minute

: First good chance for Germany. Brand is released on the right side, starts dribbling and brings the ball sharply into the middle to Schüller. The striker doesn't quite get to the ball and so the chance is wasted. Still the first good attack.

1st minute:

The Icelanders come into the penalty area for the first time from the left via Jonsdottir, but Gwinn is in between.

Kick-off! The ball is rolling. Germany kicks off.

Update from April 9th, 5:38 p.m.:

The game in Aachen starts in just over half an hour. The teams are currently preparing for the encounter on the pitch. Incidentally, Iceland's coach Thorsteinn Halldorsson has four Bundesliga players in his starting eleven. Sveindis Jonsdottir from VfL Wolfsburg, Glodis Perla Viggosdottir from FC Bayern, Ingibjörg Sigurdardottir from MSV Duisburg and Karolina Lea Vilhjalmsdottir from Bayer Leverkusen all earn their money in Germany.

Update from April 9th, 5:15 p.m.:

The DFB women's lineup is here! Horst Hrubesch is rebuilding the team in three positions compared to the 3-2 win against Austria four days ago. In goal, Hrubesch, somewhat surprisingly, relies on Ann-Katrin Berger instead of Merle Frohms. As already announced, Bibiane Schulze Solano is making her starting eleven debut in central defense, replacing Sara Doorsoun. In central midfield, Elisa Senß moves alongside Lena Oberdorf and Sjoeke Nüsken. Sydney Lohmann will initially start on the bench.

First report from April 9th, 4:33 p.m.:

Aachen - Four days after the arduous 3-2 win against Austria at the start of the European Championship qualification, the DFB women want to improve on the second matchday. In Aachen, the team of current national coach Horst Hrubesch will welcome Iceland, probably the strongest group opponent. Nevertheless, Germany goes into the game as the clear favorites.

Germany against Iceland today in the live ticker: Schulze Solano before his starting eleven debut

Compared to the win against Austria, Hrubesch will definitely rebuild his team's defense. Bibiane Schulze Solano from Athletic Bilbao, who made her international debut against Austria in the second half, will be allowed to start at Aachen's Tivoli, as Hrubesch revealed at the press conference on Monday. Sara Doorsoun from Frankfurt will probably have to give way.

“She showed in the second half that she fits in there,” said Hrubesch. He also doesn't have that many left-footed players in the defense center. “It’s an honor to be able to play right from the start,” explained Schulze Solano, who also sat on the podium on Monday. She wants to play her game, play simple balls and stay calm, “that’s my job for tomorrow.” However, Hrubesch will have to do without Laura Freigang, who injured her ankle against Austria.

DFB women draw attention to the gender care gap against Iceland

Not only is the second win in the second game of this European Championship qualification against Iceland, the DFB also wants to send a socio-political signal. Under the motto “It’s time” we will draw attention to the gender care gap, i.e. the unequal distribution of care work between women and men in society.

A survey published at the end of March by the Federal Statistical Office for 2022 shows that women spend an average of 30 hours per week on unpaid work, while men spend almost 21 hours. Sponsor Vorwerk is providing the eye-catching logo space on the anthem jackets and warm-up shirts of the women's national team for this game and is presenting the topic with a meaningful campaign key visual.
