The only thing missing? Victories: Summary of Danny Avdia's wonderful season

Highlights: Danny Avdia had a truly breakout season in the best league in the world. The Israeli recorded career highs in almost every statistical column. He finished the season with 18 double-doubles, tied with Andre Drummond for 38th in the entire NBA. He is ahead of names such as Myles Turner, Jabari Smith, Pascal Siakam, Daniel Gafford, Paulo Bancro, Kevin Durant, Kristaps Porzingis, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, Donovan Mitchell and many others. He did all of this in 30.1 minutes per evening (compared to 26.6 last year), and at least personally, it was hard to ask for more. The worst season in Washington Wizards history ended this evening (Sunday) with a 67th loss - this time against Boston. It was the first time the Wizards have lost 67 games in a row. The Wizards lost their first game of the season against the New York Knicks.

The worst season in Washington Wizards history ended this evening (Sunday) with a 67th loss - this time against Boston. There were very few bright spots in 2023/24 for the Wizards, but one of the most prominent of them was without a doubt Danny Avdia, who had a truly breakout season in the best league in the world.



The Israeli recorded career highs in almost every statistical column - points (14.8, compared to 9.2 last year), percentage from the field (50.6, compared to 43.7 last year), 3-point percentage (37.4, compared to 29.7 last year), 7.2 rebounds (compared to 6.4 last year) and 3.8 Assists (compared to 2.8 last year). He did all of this in 30.1 minutes per evening (compared to 26.6 last year), and at least personally, it was hard to ask for more.



Avdia started the season not bad, but as the months went by he got better and better, and from the All-Star break onwards he looked like a real star, with averages of 17.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4 assists per night. He finished February with 20.1 points (55.9 percent from the field, 50 percent for 3), 9.3 rebounds and 3 assists per game, and April with 20.3 points (53.8 percent from the field), 8.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per night.

His career high was against New Orleans on February 14, with fantasy numbers of 43 points and 15 rebounds against New Orleans. Besides that, he scored over 30 points one more time (32 against Toronto) and 16 times over 20 points.



Avdia finished the season with 18 double-doubles, tied with Andre Drummond for 38th in the entire NBA, ahead of names such as Myles Turner, Jabari Smith, Pascal Siakam, Daniel Gafford, Paulo Bancro, Kevin Durant, Kristaps Porzingis, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Draymond Green, Anthony Edwards, Shea Gilges Alexander, Stephen Curry, Donovan Mitchell and many others.
