There are increasing signs that FC Bayern and SpVgg Unterhaching are seeking cooperation in the transition from youth to professional football.
Munich/Unterhaching – Those in charge of the two clubs don't want to really look at their cards yet. Nevertheless, close cooperation between third division promoted SpVgg Unterhaching and the industry leader from Munich is becoming increasingly likely.
“There is currently nothing to say whether there will be a cooperation. Let’s see,” said Christoph Freund, FC Bayern’s sporting director, on Friday after FC Bayern II’s 1-1 draw against TSV Aubstadt. U23 coach Holger Seitz also kept a low profile, but did not deny the good relationship with Haching boss Schwabl. “I know the man. “It’s almost a friendly relationship,” said the 49-year-old. “I really enjoy being at the Hachinger Sports Park.”

The rumors first appeared in the Unterhaching community. The president of the third division club remains silent on the issue. Presumably also because the Haching-based company could probably even be obliged to make an ad hoc announcement after its IPO in 2019 if the record champions and the team from the suburb have confirmed the cooperation in writing.
Nevertheless, the pieces of the puzzle are fitting together more and more. Last week, FC Bayern published a list of 28 talents who are currently being loaned out to other clubs for higher positions in the star ensemble on Säbener Straße. Gabriel Vidovic (Dinamo Zagreb) and US international Malik Tillman (PSV Eindhoven) are on the radar of Christoph Freund and those responsible and could become part of the change in the summer.

With the exception of the secondary representatives of the Bundesliga clubs, every club wants to be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga as quickly as possible - including SpVgg Unterhaching. With the two to three hopefuls from the state capital on loan per season, the chances for Marc Unterberger and his team would increase.
In the best case scenario, FC Bayern could even choose in the future which talents should develop better in the regional league, 3rd or 2nd league. The 2nd team from Unterhaching is about to make the leap into the Bayernliga and will want to continue to move up. The little Bavarians will be one of the top favorites in the regional league next season if Würzburg is promoted in the summer. Maybe the prospective partners will even celebrate a “triple” promotion in 2025. (jb)
