Nintendo gives its online subscription for the Switch new, not just for retro fans exciting content. The game package will in the future include 20 Super Nintendo classics, from "Mario" titles to "Zelda".

Game monthly subscriptions are trendy. Almost every major games company now has a flatrate package on offer - including Nintendo, which has long been offering access to dozens of NES classics as part of its online Nintendo Switch Online service. (A large market overview of game flat rates can be found here.)

Now Nintendo has missed his game pack a remarkable update. Famous titles also include 20 Super Nintendo (SNES) games starting Friday, including genre milestones such as "Super Mario World", "Super Mario Kart" and "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past". Also on board are sports and action games like "F-Zero", "Super Soccer" and "Super Metroid". Nintendo wants to sell a SNES controller for the switch for 30 euros.

Like the NES titles, subscribers can download the SNES games to their switches. On the console, they can then only be played up to a maximum of seven days without an internet connection. Some of the older titles were spiced up by Nintendo with an online multiplayer mode. Playing together titles such as "Super Soccer" is also possible on the same console via the JoyCons, the detachable controller of the Switch.

On the so-called Rewind feature games can be rewind on request, so you can tackle about difficult jump passages in "Super Mario World" again. In addition, the own progress, unlike the original games can save at any time.

Switch Online includes a game flatrate, but primarily the service is a paid access to online gaming on the console, similar to Sony's Playstation Plus and Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold. With "Tetris 99" Nintendo has also a Switch Online exclusive title, which can only play Abokunden, in the portfolio.

From Breath of Fire to Yoshi's Island

Subscriptions for Switch Online cost four euros per month, but they are also offered in an annual package for 20 euros. For 35 euros can alternatively buy a family subscription for eight accounts. Newcomers can try the service for a week for free.
