In the US election campaign candidates collect donations in the millions. Amazon Alexa will help you soon. From October, users should be able to donate up to $ 200 to registered candidates via voice control.

In the US, citizens should be able to donate money via Alexa to candidates for the 2020 presidential election. That announced Amazon on a company-owned blog. The "Alexa Donate [Sum] to [Candidate Name]" command is expected to provide donations of $ 5 to $ 200. Candidates must first sign up for this feature, which is scheduled to begin in October.

Amazon announced further new features regarding the presidential election campaign. Alexa should also be able to answer questions such as "who is running?", "When is the next debate?" or "What is this candidate's opinion on that topic?"

Alexa herself has no opinion on topics or candidates, according to Amazon. Work with "impartial companies to provide customers with information about polls, polls, results, and more." In his FAQs, Amazon also answers the question: "How do I prevent unintentional donations?" One can activate in the attitudes a four-digit voice code.

Amazon's intelligent speaker is repeatedly suspected of being misused as a listening device. In April, it was revealed that Amazon employees were listening to and recording partial private calls - supposedly to improve voice control. Affected customers get nothing from it.
