Leaking battery acid: Ford recalls 322,000 vehicles


Because of the risk of fire Ford has to order hundreds of thousands of vehicles in the workshops. One third of it in Germany. Also affected are models that did not run until the beginning of the year.

Worldwide, the American automaker Ford has to recall around 322,000 vehicles. In Germany, around 100,000 models of the Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo are affected by the recall. According to Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) there is a danger of a fire in the engine compartment.

According to a Ford spokesman leaked battery acid could cause the battery negative pole to fail, the sensor of the battery monitoring system. This concerns vehicles from the production period from 13 February 2014 to 11 February 2019 from the Valencia plant in Spain.
