Shelley Morrison, star of Will & Grace, passed away at the age of 83

American-Jewish actress Shelley Morrison, who was best known for her role as housekeeper Rosario Salzer in NBC's comic television series "Will and Grace," passed away and is 83. Morrison, who played the role from 1999 to 2006, passed away at a Los Angeles medical center After a long battle with cancer. Morrison was born in New York to Spanish Jewish parents.

The role of housekeeper Salzer was originally created for a one-off appearance but it gained immense popularity among viewers, eventually appearing in 68 episodes over the years. Her character used to quarrel constantly with her employer Karen Walker (Megan Mulley), and eventually she even married the gay friend of Karen Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes) to avoid her divorce.

Hayes eulogized her on Instagram: "She was insanely funny and had the biggest heart. She was part of our Will and Grace family and she will be greatly missed. I send my condolences to her husband Walter and the rest of her family." The "Will and Grace" star Deborah Messing also welcomed her: "What a loss. Mine had a career for decades, but for me she will always be dear Rosie." Series actor Eric McCormack added: "A beautiful soul and a great actress. She will be missed by all of us."
