Per page so expensive we have a new car. A collector has paid a record price for a Ferrari brochure. According to the will of the Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari the prospectus should never be printed.

At an auction in Ladenburg in Baden-Württemberg, a rare Ferrari brochure was auctioned for a record amount. An anonymous bidder from the USA was awarded the contract and paid a total of 127,600 euros for the brochure.

The English-language brochure from 1954 shows the model Ferrari 250 Europa, one of the early success models of the Italian sports car brand from Modena. The brochure, which went into the auction with a starting bid of 25,000 euros, has only four pages. This costs a page as much as a well-equipped compact car, namely 31,900 euros. Experts today are aware of only three versions of this prospectus.

"It is said that Enzo Ferrari had the circulation stamped at that time because he did not like the brochures," says Tobias Friedrich from the auction house Ni-Cola Classics. Only a few specimens have been previously sent to interested parties, the reason why the prospectus is so rare.

In 2007, a brochure of this series was ever for sale. At an auction in Switzerland, this was then sold for 17,000 euros. Since then, its value has increased by 650 percent.
