The city of Dusseldorf was on Thursday morning massive technical problems. As it says on the city's website, all computer systems had failed. There were also disturbances with the telephones. According to the "Express", the so-called Info-Line Düsseldorf, the city's important switchboard, was not available for hours.
"All departments, including the civil offices and the vehicle registration office, were unable to process transactions online," the city itself sums up the restrictions. "Citizens were asked to postpone their visits to office and not to visit the services." From about 11.30 clock, but the systems were then gradually available again.
The city's communication also states that all citizens whose concerns could not be dealt with receive a voucher on their visit to the office. So they could go once with the Ferris wheel on the Burgplatz right on the Rhine. The initiative for this gesture was based on Mayor Thomas Geisel.
Also in a post on Facebook was pointed out on Thursday afternoon on the unusual compensation. In the contribution of Dusseldorf.de it says: "The vouchers are issued locally to the visitors, who unfortunately had to be dismissed because of the disturbance."
